Hi all. Looking for some comfort here, I know I need to see a doctor and I did get some blood tests and both values came back positive, ie the antibodies and the test showed it’s a 1 month infection. I am in my 30s and it’s a dangerous time to have it. However, I am stunned because my blood test says I have it but I have no rash, no fever, no symptoms and I have not been around kids either. Has anyone ever heard of a case like that? Please let me know why my blood tests insist I have it recently, can something else alter the test, if so, what? Thanks.
Don’t panic. I think you are misreading your blood work. Actually, I’m sure of it.
There are different types of immunoglobin that are found in the blood. One type shows that you have an infection right this minute and is put out very quickly when a bug invades. The other type of immunoglobin is a very long-term type and stays in your body forever after you get the chicken pox and this is how we can tell that you have had chicken pox sometime in your life. It does not mean that you are sick with that disease right now.
my sore throat got worse, not better, so my doc sent me to the emergency room to see if i have an abscess in my throat. wheeee! they’ve just put in the iv, and i go for a cat scan soon. and i’m hoping the weird rash is NOT scarlet fever, like the intake doc suspected. i still can’t swallow, and i almost passed out when they put in the iv. but… actually there is no but. that’s about it from this end. i should add that i didn’t actually call 911. flo left school early and whisked me here, like the knight he is. more as things progress. thanks for all the well wishes, you fabulous people.
