I Have A Brown Blotchy Skin Rash On My Neck?
For years now, I’ve had a brown blotchy skin rash around my neck. I have no idea what it’s from and my doctor just thinks it’s an allergy. But didn’t really seem confident. I have SUPER sensitive skin but you would think it’d go away SOMETIME, right? I don’t wear jewelry so it’s not from that. It also doesn’t hurt–it’s just ugly. Any ideas on what this is or how to get rid of it?

It sounds like it could be tinea versicolor…it if is, that is a fungus that gets in your blood, and is often picked up from locker rooms, gyms, etc…any place where you come into contact with others…it can be transferred from using the towel of an infected person.
It is ugly, but harmless….
Go to a dermatologist for a prescription for selsun lotion…which is a topical solution you will have to apply on the affected areas, leave on for 10-15 minutes, then shower off.
I had this too and it was my earrings. I cannot wear any earrings unless they are either gold or the thick studs they put in when you get them pierced. I always buy the studs when I am looking for new earrings. I wasn’t always that way – it just started after I had [...]
I have a crazy rash that 3 docs couldn’t figure out so far. It started on both my arms on Feb. 18th as red raised spots that were really hot to the touch but did not itch. At first they thought I was having an allergic reaction to something but within 48 hours my arms [...]
My friend has this skin rash. I see him and he always sctrachy. He told me that his body is really scratchy all over his body and a little scratching leaves a mark like you got a cut. However, he said it’s really scratchy but there is no bug bite or anything. The skin looks [...]
If scratching or applied pressure to the skin results in the skin forming raised patches of skin, then it could be dermatographism. The best site around on this problem is given below.
