non itchy rash on arms stomach chest and back. what is it?
I’ve had a rash on my arms but mostly on my stomach, chest and back. its not itchy, they’re tons or lil brown spots almost like chicken pox and a few pink ones. I’ve looked everywhere to find something similar but no luck yet. doesn’t really bother me but i am curious to what it is. any idea what it might be?
Ecxema.
if it reminds you of chicken pox it could be shingles. when shingles first start out they look like no more than chicken pox or bug bites, but as they start to itch (after a few days) and you scratch, they get worse and spread. if it is shingles you need to see your doctor ASAP to get Valtrex (b/c the shingles virus is a form of the herpes virus–like advanced chicken pox). They will also give you something for pain and itching (which will come)
I had shingles and that’s how it started, and then progressed.

Do you also have bruising? If you do, and the spots are flat, they may be petechiae which are the result of broken blood vessels and a symptom of immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP). Petechiae shows up on the places you mentioned (and legs/feet.) ITP is a blood disorder that causes you to bleed more than you should as a result of lack of platelets and can be caused by the onset of a virus. (In my case, my spleen sequestered my platelets and killed them.) Think about your body’s daily wear and tear. Every day, you’re bumping against things, your friends are slapping you on your back, you lift something too heavy etc… you actually break tiny blood vessels daily. You usually don’t notice these vessels breaking because your platelets quickly repair them. If you don’t have enough platelets, the blood will ooze out of your vessels, but remain under the skin if the skin isn’t broken, causing the spots. I suggest you look up ITP and check out many pictures and if you feel your spots are similar, go to the emergency room immediately. Don’t allow anyone to bump you on the way to the hospital and especially protect your head. Wear shoes with traction and be careful on steps/stairs. ITP is serious, but you don’t feel any differently, so you may be dangerously ill and not realize it if you’re unfamiliar with it.

My little girl has been scratching her head for 4 days, esp around the base of her scalp and her ears. I thought it was lice but couldn’t find any. School checked also and couldn’t find any but said she had a rash on her scalp. I ended up taking her to the doctor because [...]
I have a non itchy rash that started on my right forearm, moved to my left forearm and now is on the insides of my calves. I haven’t changed detergents or anything like that, but I do walk outside everyday. Any ideas? Idea: Go to your doctor ASAP.
